Kazan Japan Travel is a registered Travel Agent with the government of Japan. In order to make these amazing trips a reality, we must follow the cancellation policy set by Japanese Travel Law. This cancellation policy is set in place to protect the traveler. We ask you to be as sure as possible that you will be able to attend your trip before booking. Please inquire with any questions.

Guests are responsible for any cost incurred by canceling the accommodation booking. Each accommodation has its policy that we will confirm and share with you once the accommodation is decided. For your reference, Niseko accommodations in winter typically have a cancellation policy similar to:
-20% non-refundable deposit to confirm the accommodation booking.
-100% cancellation charge if the accommodation booking is canceled within 60 days of arrival date.
Individual Guest Cancellation
If the full tour is not canceled, but a tour guest(s) cannot join for any reason, we cannot offer a refund to those individuals. We recommend travel insurance to help cover this case. We have heard good reviews about Travel Guard, but don't have direct experience with a claim with them.
Other notes
This is a package tour where Kazan Japan Travel needs to pre-pay for accommodation, guides, food, reservations, lift tickets, and more. The accommodation provider also has their own cancellation policy that we need to adhere to, so please do your best to confirm you will be able to join before booking. We recommend travel insurance with trip cancellation insurance from Travelguard or another reputable company.
We can not give Kazan Niseko Package Tour guests partial refunds in the event of extreme weather that closes the ski lifts, bad weather, early season or low snow conditions, or any other reason. Instead, we will make the most of the day by going on a day trip to an onsen, eating food, visiting a whiskey distillery, etc.
When Kazan Japan Travel cancels, voids, or refunds a payment to the Guest’s credit card in Japanese Yen, there may be changes in the amount due to foreign currency exchange rates and charges of the bank or credit card company, any differences are the Guest's responsibility. The same rules apply when the refund is made to the Guest’s bank account via a bank transfer.

Transportation is included in our guided trips. This includes door-to-door transport, so we will pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation.
Package tours include free airport transfers. The whole group of guests must all use the same transfer time to and from the airport for the free transfer. Custom transfers (a different time than the main free transfer) can be arranged, but the guest must cover this cost. Therefore, it is highly recommended to book the same or a very similar flight time with everyone in your group.
Our goal is to find the best snow for you every day. The snow and weather take experience to read in Niseko and there are many microclimates, so often the decision of where to go that day happens early in the morning. The typical pick-up time is 8 am, and returning to your accommodation is about 4 pm - 6 pm depending on the destination. Later start times and earlier returns are available on request.
Your guide will work with you to decide where to go each day. We want to provide the best possible experience, so the price does not change depending on the location. Being at the right place at the right time is what we strive for.
Guides are entitled to a 1-hour break off of the skis or snowboard. This usually occurs when we are all enjoying lunch together.
Guides and guests naturally form a wonderful bond in the mountains. Often, guests would like their guides to join them for dinner or drinks in the evenings. We encourage this as it enhances the experience for everyone. The guide has the choice if they would like to continue after dropping the guests back at the accommodation around 4 to 6 pm.

All guests are required to have an avalanche safety kit (backpack, shovel, transceiver, probe) if going outside of the resort-managed areas. This includes outside of the Niseko resort’s gate system. If you do not have your own gear please let us know and we will help arrange it.
Backcountry touring days require more gear including a ski touring setup, splitboard touring setup, or snowshoes. Prepare for cold conditions every day as the weather can change quickly. Spare goggles/lenses, gloves, and extra layers are recommended. More information can be provided after booking.
If you are renting skiing or snowboarding equipment please let us know. We can help arrange it.
-
Guiding is open to all ability levels.
Skiing, snowboarding, or a mix of both is acceptable.
Once a booking is made, date changes are not allowed. Please cancel and book again following the cancellation policy. There are great conditions around the Niseko area nearly every day in winter. If the entire mountain is closed due to an extreme weather event we will refund your payment for the day or reschedule to another day if available. We cannot offer refunds if some lifts are still operating.
Early season bookings. If Niseko has a slow start to snowfall and it is determined by us that there is not enough snow for guiding or instructing then we will offer a refund. Please note that December usually has the most snowfall of the year, but often not all of the terrain on the mountain is open yet in Niseko. There is still amazing powder skiing in December and we will guide you to it, however, some backcountry gates such as Gate 3 that accesses the peak do not typically open until the first week of January.

All parties agree that you have valid travel insurance (or accident insurance) which covers you for snowsports activities. Please note the guests are responsible for their own medical expenses including rescue fees when accessing terrain outside of the resort boundaries. If you plan on going into the backcountry (including out of the Niseko resort’s gate system) make sure your insurance covers this as well.
When booking with Kazan Japan Travel, both parties are in agreement that skiing and snowboarding are dangerous activities and that Kazan Japan Travel and its employees cannot be held liable for accident or injury, including serious bodily harm or injury resulting in death that occurs before, during, or after your guiding day or lesson.
All those who partake in a Kazan Japan Travel product will indemnify and keep indemnified Kazan Japan Travel, its employees, affiliates, and agents from all actions, suits, claims for damage, and demands for personal injury, loss, or damage.
All guests must read and sign a release of liability waiver before the start of the tour. All participants under the age of 19 must also have a parent or legal guardian sign their release of liability. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the tour without a refund. We will provide the release of liability waiver upon request or booking.
